Food Review: Gram Cafe & Pancakes Canada

Gram Cafe was founded in 2014 in Osaka, and specializes in fluffy pancakes.

I have never tried an authentic Japanese fluffy pancake ( I missed my opportunity even though I've visited Japan twice...!),  so I didn't have any expectations for Gram. But the location that I tried was the Kensington Gardens location back in March 2021 here in Vancouver and at the time, they only had a soft opening menu.

Here are some of the photos I took:

Flavours
Top (left to right): Chocolate, Strawberry, Matcha, taro, Original, Oreo
Bottom (left to right(: Mango, Pork Floss, Coffee, Black Sesame, Raspberry, Chestnut

I was so sad there was no matcha when I visited! But I went back another day to try it.
I have tried all of the flavours except pork floss, original, raspberry, and chocolate.
My top three flavours are the taro (great taro flavour!), matcha, and black sesame. I didn't really enjoy the chestnut that much, it tasted underwhelming.

The pancakes are premade, so they are not fresh/warm when you get them. They taste more like a sponge cake than a fluffy pancake. But I still enjoyed them and for the price points ($3.75 - $5.50),  I think it is fair. There is still an on-going promotion where you can get 10% off if you get 5 pancakes, which is a nice way to try the flavours or share :)

Photo Diary: Tsum Tsum Tuesday - Marvel Avengers!

Disney's October 2015 Tsum Tsums .... the Marvel's Avengers! OMG. I definitely had to line up early to collect the set!

This was my first time lining up to wait for the Disney Store to open, so I really didn't know what to expect....

I arrived at the Metro Town Disney Store at about 9:15 AM...and darn, there was already a line up. What?! And I was afraid of being too early too XD.

Not all of these Tsums came in 3 different sizes.

Large: Spider-man and Hulk
Medium: Spider-man, Iron Man, and Captain America

Hehehe, here's my set :)  I picked 2 sets, as that was the limit per customer. However, you can pick the same style of Tsum Tsum in different sizes (eg: Spider-man in all of the available sizes)

Sigh... I told myself to only pick up the small ones... but I caved and got a medium Iron Man LOL. Captain America also looks pretty cool in medium, but nope, I can't hoard too much! You will understand when you see my final picture towards the end of this post :P

#TrueVancouverite. Using Quatchi, one of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics mascots, to camwhore with the Tsum Tsums ;)

See, this is what I mean by no more hoarding! But still, my Tsum Tsum collection will continue to grow.

If you love Tsum Tsums, I highly recommend you to follow My Tsum Tsum Blog to receive quick updates on newly released products!

Photo Diary: A Solitary Walk

On my way home from a catch up date with a friend, I was stopped by beautiful red maple leaves from afar as I passed by Hastings Park :D

Time for a spur of the moment photography and a moment for self-reflecting!

Although it was expected to be a rainy day, I brought my camera with my anyways, and I'm glad that I did! It's been a while since I've spent some alone time to just shoot pictures.

What a lovely bold of colours on this gloomy/overcast day.

I really enjoy being in this part of the park, because the checkered flooring here reminds me a bit of Alice in Wonderland.

It's very vibrant here in the spring time, but I guess we'll have to wait until next year for that.

During my walk, I only encountered a few other people, so it felt a bit eerie LOL but it was also nice because it allowed me to just think by myself. I think it's important for everyone to have these moments of alone time and to know how to be alone.

I thought about... where I currently am in life, where I want to be, and how I want to get there. It's depressing LOL.

Hello, Hellevator.

I am in my final semester of university/college, and I still don't know what I want to do with my life. I can't wait to graduate, but I also don't want to graduate. It's normal to feel that way, right? I feel like... as long as I keep going, every thing should be okay. If it's meant to be, then you shall see.

Where do you find motivation?

What keeps you going?
