Review: Nature Republic Botanical Water Proof Eyeliner

The search for a non-liquid eyeliner that is both decent and affordable has come to an end for me!.... Unless I make bad online shopping choices after 2am... XD.

Love the packaging: simple and green just like the branding colour.
I have this eyeliner in the shade #2 brown, although it does come in a black colour as well.

Swatch

After smudging excessively.

I only paid $10 for this eyeliner, and that's not a bad price considering it is waterproof and you don't need to apply primer. This is my 2nd product from Nature Republic (the first makeup item being their botanical concealer) , and I am overall happy with the brand. I'm glad that Aberdeen Centre in Richmond opened up a Nature Republic store so that I can test out the products in person :3

Review: TonyMoly Make HD Hair Color Cream: Red Brown / 7R

TonyMoly has recently opened in Aberdeen Center in Richhmond and you don't know how happy that makes me! I've been purchasing the brand's makeup and skincare products online, and to now know I can buy them locally... I'm excited :) I've never tried any of their hair products before, but.. back in early January, the store was having a 30% off sale, so I picked up this hair dye for just under $8! Standard drugstore hairdye price, I'd say :)

Thoughts on Content
I must say, I LOVE every single thing that comes with this hair dye.

I have three things to say about how thoughtful I feel this product came to be. Firstly, this is the 2nd Korean brand of hairdye I've used (the first one being from Innisfree), and I appreciate the fact that it comes with a "plastic blanket" for you to put over yourself to prevent messiness. As well, the fact that the dye brush/comb is rat-tail ended is really, really... a bonus ^.^ Finally.... this is something minor, but, for the Developer Cream bottle, I like that you can untwist the cap to dispense the product out instead of having to cut it out like some brands I have used in the past.

Process

BEFORE DYEING--DYEING

I forgot to take pictures of the actual consistency of the product, but I will try my best to describe it.
The dye itself is quite liquidy, but concentrated. Initially, I was afraid my hair wouldn't fully saturated because of its watery consistency, but application was very easy. The dye came out to being reddish purple, which I was happy about because I knew for a fact that I would have red undertones!

Side Note: The conditioning cream is VERY rich, and you don't need to apply a lot! I wish it was sold separately.

RESULT

Do I look like her? LOL

Natural Lighting

I left the dye on for about an hour, and the conditioning cream for 5 minutes. I must say, I am extremely satisfied with the end result :) I didn't expect the red to be this vibrant. This is quite a lovely auburn colour. For my hair length, I only used one box dye, but it wasn't enough. I do have some uneveness, but I'm okay with that. I would definitely repurchase this product!

Review: Innisfree Camellia Hair Lotion

I need to care for my hair more........
After bleaching my hair for the first time with L'oreal Feria's Wild Ombre Kit, my hair became even more damaged and dry :( I've always been pretty low maintenance with my hair.. I mean sure, I'd try some oils here and there but I never really stuck with a routine.

I purchased my hair lotion at RoseRoseShop (or RubyRuby76 on eBay), which is a popular Korean cosmetics online shop.

Innisfree Camellia Hair Lotion, 230ml
Description
"Formulated with Jeju camellia ingredients, this product helps to reveal shiny and soft hair. This moisture enriched lotion evenly applies onto hair, presenting a natural hair style without leaving any greasy feeling behind."

Directions
"After shampooing and gently drying your hair, apply an adequate amount evenly onto hair and style as desired."

I don't actually like the scent of this hair lotion very much. It smells sour to me, or is that the smell of camellia (I though camellia smelled sweet?!). Not sure, but it is bearable. Despite that, this product moisturizes extremely well. I noticed my hair feeling less dry in about 1.5 weeks of using it (about 3 times a week). The bottle is plastic, so you have little to worry about if you knock it over.

I have really long hair, so I use about 1 or half a pump. It does not leave my hair feeling greasy at all, which is outstanding. If I were to style my hair with a heat appliance, I would do so first before applying the lotion. It really helps smooth out your hair of frizz. This product is more on the pricey side though, as it retails for about $15.

Overall, I'd rate this product a 4.5/5 :).

It is interesting to note that Innisfree is a brand that uses all natural ingredients (source: Home Remedies Pro. This may be the reason for their product costs. I am more intrigued to try the Innisfree Camellia Whipping Hair Color dye now :) In fact, I've placed an order for it in #4 Wine Red, and will do a review on that when I get the chance ♥.

Review: Etude House Sleeping Facial Pack

The Etude House Sleeping Facial Pack comes in 3 types: Brightening, Pore Tightening, and Moisturizing. The consistency of this product is gel based. Although the 3 have specific target functions, they all essentially help retain moisture to your skin as you sleep.

Size
It comes in 120 ml or 4.06 oz.

Price
Depending on where you get it, the price of this product ranges from $8-10.

How to Use
You would apply this on a clean face before you go to bed, and then rinse off the next morning. This absorbs to your skin right away like any moisturizer would. On the back of the tube, it recommends you to sleep for 10 hours for the product to be most effective (I usually sleep for 6-7 hours, though, haha. Who's able to sleep for 10 hours in this time and age?!).

*About My Skin*
Before I review the product itself, I'd like to address a few things about my skin. I have normal-combination skin, and it is acne prone (due to stress, and that time of the month :P). I also have discolouration due to post-acne scars.

Brightening

This is the first one I've tried. I've used it for about 6 months now, and I really enjoy it! It does not leave any greasy feeling to my face at all. In the morning, my face looks radiant and glowy, and feels smooth. I am impressed with this product. My acne scars have faded a bit, but I cannot say completely, and I also cannot say it was solely because of this product (for instance, combination of other products may have aided in the reduction of scarring). This isn't a whitening/lightening product, so don't expect it to do just that. If you are looking for whitening/lightening products (they do help lighten scars), I recommend My Beauty Diary masks in Black Pearl (Black Pearl isn't the only one that specializes in whitening, but I just find that to be the most effective one. Also, keep in mind that if you do choose to use whitening products, you will be sacrificing your currently owned foundation shades! LOL).

Pore Tightening

Because I liked the Brightening version so much, I decided to give this one a try, too. It has a similar effect in that it leaves my face well moisturized from when I apply it to when I wake up the next morning. In terms of pore tightening, I haven't noticed any drastic difference (yet).

Moisturizing

Sadly...... I have not tried this one yet. Apologies for the absence of this review. However, I'm assuming this would be perfect for the colder months, or those with dryer skin :)

Overall, through my personal experience, I find this to be a wonderful product, and I will definitely buy this again. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope this was helpful! ^^

RANDOM
Oh, in case you were wondering, the model for this product is Park Shin-Hye. She is a talented Korean actress who starred in the famous drama called You're Beautiful. I watched her in her other dramas called Stairway to Heaven, and Tree of Heaven (both very sad and moving <3).
